Vane developed a new version of the “We Are All Vane” Pendant.

“This jewelry piece is def pretty controversial, but fun. The partner’s in Vane are all different religions, so that got us to thinking about dudes rocking crosses and things like that. The piece is a combination of three major religion’s symbols: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. This piece is def one of our favorites because it describes city life so well - many different ethnicities, religions, cultures, and ideas all living together. Vane def thinks that the world loses sight of the fact that we are all equal and can coexist.”

The pendant comes in three different finishes - gun metal plated, brass plated, and silver plated. All the pieces are made of pewter. The pewter pieces sell for $85. They also created a sterling silver version, which sells for $1200. The piece was carved by hand in silver and then lost cast molded - this gives it a unique feel. The piece is 100% made in New York like all Vane goods. The pendant comes on a great 36 inch brass rope chain.

Burton Snowboards and Kidrobot today unveiled their limited-edition collaborative snowboard, the Burton Kidrobot Custom Plus. The inaugural collaboration between the companies has been over a year in the making and involved collaboration among multiple artists and snowboard designers.
Based on the platform of a Burton Custom 158cm snowboard, the Burton Kidrobot Custom Plus began as a blank canvas for Kidrobot founder Paul Budnitz to play with. The result is a whimsical and colorful board with a topsheet graphic that features Kidrobot’s iconic “Kidrobot head” character and a base graphic that depicts a collage of well-known Kidrobot characters including the Dunny, Smorkin Labbit and Icebot. Artists whose characters appear on the board include Paul Budnitz, Frank Kozik, Dalek, Tilt, Sket One and more.

The Burton Kidrobot Custom Plus marks the first time Kidrobot has collaborated on a snowboard. Paul Budnitz had this to say about the organic process with which Burton and Kidrobot joined forces, “Greg Dacyshyn, Burton SVP and Creative Director, and I are fans of each other’s work. When we met, we totally hit it off. A collaboration was necessary - it wasn’t even a question.”

Likewise, Greg Dacyshyn was equally stoked on the project, “I have always been a toy collector…you’re never too big to play with toys. I really love what Kidrobot does. They have an amazing design sensibility, and it really works well with what we do here at Burton. I look forward to working on more projects with them in the future.”

The Burton Kidrobot Custom Plus is being produced in super limited quantities and will be available at Burton and Kidrobot flagship stores and at very select snowboard retailers. Please stay tuned for additional Burton and Kidrobot limited edition product in the very near future.

A little while ago we presented you the Andrei Molodkin x Burton t-shirts, that as usual featured the iconic skull of the artist in his very own iconic style. Burton took the collaboration further this season and also slapped the design onto a snowboard. Here you see the original colorway, but the board also comes in several other colors, including green and brown. If you want a hot board this season, this is certainly one of the nicest out there.

BBC/Ice Cream, the brand of Pharrell Williams and Nigo, has opened their second flagship store this past weekend in Hong Kong. The store is definitely impressive and seams much bigger than the first one, that they opened in Tokyo last year. It is centrally located in Hong Kong and has several stories. Just like all Bape stores, the new BBC/Ice Cream store has also been designed by Japanese Architects Wonderwall. This second BBC/Ice Cream flagship store will be followed by a NYC flagship later this fall. We will report about that when we have more info.

WeJetSet is a new service that is about to go live. As the name tells they concentrate on travel - selling travel products in their online and physical stores and also reporting about the lastest hip products and destinations in travel. Sounds interesting, so already bookmark them.

The new A.P.C. Store in L.A. opened its doors recently and many asked themselves why it took them so long to open a second store, after their NYC store has already been around since 1987.
The new store has a lot of the characteristics from their other stores, but still seems a little cleaner than what we have seen in their Parisian stores.

“Much like the label’s simple denim recipes and polished 1960s aesthetic, the new L.A. A.P.C. takes a minimalist approach to décor and design. Architect Laurent Deroo, one of Touitou’s many collaborators, kept the look slightly rough, with bare concrete and wood flooring. Careful contrasting between lights and darks comes through with the natural wood shelving accented by black metal.” Via Refinery29.

The Medicom x Marimekko collaboration that was originally released at the end of last year has now also made its way to Zozotown. Marimekko is a Finnish fabric brand, known for its great prints. Together with Medicom they released a 400% Bearbrick and two sets of 100% Bearbricks with matching plates.

Uniqlo just released the second edition of their online magazine - Uniqlo Paper. Once again they present an interesting mix of articles in the publication. They present the recently launched UT project, explain the production process of their high quality denim, present a collection of basic goods that they offer in store and also did an Interview with Juelz Santana. Otherwise they show the Uniqlo active gear and also the more sophisticated styles they have in their collections.

We always showed you the on-going collaboration between Nike and Swiss graphic designers & label Plus41. Every other Nike event that one came to you had these chocolate sneakers offered to guests. Now you can finally also purchase them.

Actually there are three different pairs available, they¹re all made of dark chocolate and come in a brown sneaker-box (very detailed with size, color code, limited mark and all that stuff). The mini choco sneaker feature a Blazer MID, Dunk HI & a Air Trainer, all
are produced very accurate.

The mini choco AF1 is made of white chocolate and is made also very authentic and is a limited edition especially made for the 25th Anniversary of the AF1. These are the last pairs that¹ll come in grey boxes - in future they will be produced with the regular brown boxes.

We have previously reported about the Japanese brand Visvim, mostly know for their footwear. You might have heard that Visvim recently also opened a flagship store, F.I.L., in Hong Kong. The design concept of the new store is pretty much the same as what we have seen already in their previous stores in Japan - very clean, very minimalist, very white! Another hot shopping destination in HK, after recent openings of Bape and Comme des Garcons. All three stores are owned and run by I.T., that owns both stores and licenses for these brands in HK.
